With almost everyone out of school and off work for a few days, Thanksgiving weekend seemed to be the perfect time to explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas.
Though temperatures were only in the mid-30s on Thursday morning, the parking lots of Sugarlands Visitor Center were full of nature lovers eager to spend a relaxing day on the trails.
