Lumberjack Sports International’s Great Smoky Mountain Lumberjack Feud, a $10 million attraction located in Pigeon Forge, will open for business on Friday, August 26.
Being touted as the “Smokies’ Rowdiest Good-Time Dinner Show,” ESPN timber athletes will perform daily. Lumberjack Feud will also be home to the Smoky Mountains Forest History Center and the Lumberjack Hall of Fame.
The Forest History Center will feature information detailing East Tennessee history, from the time of the Cherokee Indians up to the arrival of the white settlers in the 1800’s. The massive logging operations of the early 1900s will also be spotlighted.
Meanwhile, the Lumberjack Hall of Fame will give visitors the opportunity to learn about the most well-known participants of the sport.
“The Smoky Mountain Forest History Center at Lumberjack Feud should be on every family’s Pigeon Forge vacation ‘to-do’ list,” Lumberjack Sports International President Rob Scheer said. “The Center will showcase the rich history of this area before the Great Smoky Mountains National Park came into being, including the timber industry’s role in shaping the culture and way of life here – which is largely an untold story.”
A 34,000-square-foot arena will be home to the Lumberjack Feud and it will offer guests two dinner shows every evening of the week. ESPN lumberjack athletes will perform more than 10 unique lumberjack sport events, including speed climbing, axe-throwing, chopping, sawing and log-rolling.
