One northbound lane of the Spur in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be closed weekdays from Monday, Jan. 27 through Thursday, Feb. 6 for utility work.
The closure will affect the right-hand northbound late of the Spur for approximately one mile from the Gatlinburg city boundary to Legion Bridge.
Sevier County Electric System plans to access utility boxes to perform needed maintenance on underground power lines on the shoulder. The lane closure is needed because of how narrow the shoulder is in that area.
The lane will be closed Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. No closures will be allowed over the weekends to accommodate weekend traffic.
